Vaccinations

Dog Vaccination Schedule for Puppy’s First Year
All Old Mill Doodle puppies will receive their first vaccination at six weeks. In warmer months, we administer a Parvo-only vaccine at five weeks and delay the combination shot until eight weeks. We always purchase vaccines of good quality (and the effectiveness of lesser brands varies).

*Our vet recommends that puppy vaccines be administered at three-week intervals; four doses is the complete series.

*The rabies shot is given simultaneously as the final puppy shot.

*A booster of the DHPP and Rabies is given one year from that date, NOT at the first birthday.

*From then on, vaccines would be repeated every three years. Even though a yearly exam by your vet is an excellent preventative practice, research has shown that yearly vaccinations are uncalled for and unhealthy for the dog.

*Additionally, my vet only administers Bordatella (kennel cough) and Dog Influenza vaccines for dogs in high-risk situations.
